    HATERS GONNA HATE

    73 Questions With Rosie Huntington-Whiteley | Vogue

    Diet, Exercise & Lifestyle

    Diet Philosophy

    Then VS Now

“I try to incorporate lots of lean protein like fish and chicken with fresh salads and vegetables.”

“For the past year, I’ve laid off the red meat a little as I’m convinced it was making me feel heavy and sluggish.”

“It all sounds quite virtuous, but my strategy is to eat clean and simply at home so I can enjoy myself when I’m out.”

“That doesn’t mean I don’t stay mindful about what I’m eating – I’m certainly not going to chow down on a massive bowl of pasta the night before a lingerie shoot – but I never want to be the girl looking miserable pushing a salad around my plate or nibbling on a celery stalk.”

    Rosie’s Food Diary

The perfect start in the day:
“Every morning, I’ll get up and chug back a litre of water. I aim for at least three litres a day; since getting strict about it I’ve seen a massive difference to my digestion and my skin. After my water I’ll make myself a soy latte and then whip up scrambled eggs and spinach before hitting the gym.”

No sugar, no gluten, no dairy, no alcohol:
“It’s been really tough, but it has also been very transformative. I can feel it in my skin, I can feel it in my body, I feel lean right now, and I feel strong and I feel energized.”

    Daily juicing:
“I’m also a big advocate of juicing so I always try to have several vegetable juices a day – my juicer is definitely the most used piece of kit in my kitchen and my cupboards are stocked with organic fruit and vegetables.”

    Exercise

    Workout Routine

“Whenever my day allows it, I’ll be at the gym by 9am. I’m always active – my mum was an aerobics instructor when I was young and she was always encouraging my siblings and me to be sporty.”

“So despite the fact I have to keep fit for my career, I’m one of those people who genuinely loves exercise – what I do just depends on my mood or schedule.”

“If I’m jet lagged or just fancy doing something gentler, I’ll do a yoga or Pilates session with instructor Andie Hecker at Ballet Bodies in LA. She’s a former ballerina so she knows how I want my body to look – long, lean and toned.”

“When I want something upbeat, I’ll head to Tracy Anderson’s studio and Simone De La Rue at Body By Simone. I love their mix of aerobics and dance – their classes are really intense and challenging.”

“When I’m in London, I work out with my brother Toby at Workshop Gymnasium, or he’ll come to my hotel and squeeze in a circuits sessions between my work schedules.”

    Skin Care Routine

Skin Care Tips: Moring – Evening

“It all starts with skincare. If your skin is well-moisturized, then you can use less makeup to achieve a glow. From there, I love to mix some Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Glow Drops into my foundation for an all-over glow, and lately, I’ve been using Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow to give my cheekbones a dewy look. I tend to avoid anything with an overly frosty finish.”

“I’m very diligent with my skin because it isn’t always blemish-free. If I’ve been in heavy make-up for work all day, I’ll cleanse my face using my Clarisonic brush – it gets rid of every last trace of make-up and dirt.”

“For the past few years, I’ve been using iS Clinical and the results have been awesome; I swear by Active Serum to prevent fine lines and spots. When I’m in LA, I see my facialist Shani Darden and I love her Resurface Retinol cream, too. I apply it every other night and wake up with smooth skin in the morning.”

    Fighting Acne

“Researching skin is a true passion of mine as I’m in constant pursuit to solve my own skin issues. My biggest revelation this year has been the benefits of using non-comedogenic and oil-free products. I religiously cross-check my skincare and makeup products against a list of pore-clogging ingredients and remove any that contain them. My skin has cleared up dramatically after suffering with acne for well over a year. Its been a game-changer for me.”

    Make Up

    Favourite Make Up Products

“Tinted moisturizer, Bioderma or Lano lip balm as a base for my lip colour, Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer, Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil, and lately, Sunnies Face lip colour.”

    Basic Face Routine

“I love to play with makeup, but if I’m in a rush, I can be ready in 10 minutes. When I’m not working, I like to keep things simple and natural; I also don’t want to spend ages getting ready, so I focus on skin, adding a little bronzer and blush, mascara and a lip balm. I actually like myself better this way.”

“I think I look at my best when I’m either working out or after a day on the beach with a little sun-kissed glow.”

    Foundation

“Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick. This is the most beautiful foundation I have ever worn.”

    Bronzer

“One of my favourite lessons is that if you’re wearing bronzer, dusting just a little bit on your eyelids will bring the whole look together.”

    Eyes

“I love a good eyelash curler. Using one takes only a few seconds, really, but it makes all the difference.”

    Acne Prone Skin

“I’m always managing my skin. And it’s funny because most people don’t associate me with acne. But if you were to see me in person, you would see what I have is a type of acne where it’s kind of textured to the skin and it sits underneath the skin. From afar, you don’t see it, but close up, I have oftentimes a sort of congestive, bumpy-like texture to my skin.”

“When you have acne-prone skin, you’re oftentimes led to believe it’s something that you’re doing wrong. And in many cases it is…. But I think for somebody that’s had it ongoing for a long, long time, it can often be something that’s just an internal thing that may or may not shift over time. For me, it’s been since the age of 16. So nearly 20 years I have dealt with acne-prone skin… sometimes it’s been really, really bad and I’ve had to go see a doctor, and other times it just requires a frequent kind of facial and it’s managed. But I think [I am] just accepting that that’s the skin type I have… instead of feeling bad about it.”

    Hair Care

    Basics

“I am a faithful user of Olaplex No. 3 to keep my hair strong, and Malibu Blondes helps keep my blonde from looking dull.”

“If I’m creating a sleek hairstyle, I mist a little hairspray on my fingers, then smooth down flyaways. This keeps even the tiniest hairs in place, but it doesn’t leave my hair feeling shellacked.”

“I love all Moroccanoil products—I’ve actually been using them for many years, even before I became a face for them. The signature hair oil has to be one of my favorite products. It’s very easy to manage, and the texture is just amazing. I apply it to my hair after I shower and then I dry it. It’s just so great for shine and keeping [hair] healthy in general.”

“I do! I’ve worked with my hairstylist from the U.K., George Northwood, since I was 16 years old. I had just started modeling and couldn’t afford a haircut, and he was working at his first salon and needed to find people to train on. We still work together, and we’re still best friends!”

5 Inspirational Quotes By Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

    Body Shape

“When I started modeling, I was definitely heavier. I was quite voluptuous in fact. I had a real baby face and baby fat. But I was a baby! I was told I had to get into better shape, but I’m quite stubborn so I didn’t.

    Runway

“I don’t even think when I’m walking down the runway. I don’t really breathe either.”

    Body Transformation

“I can’t remember a time where I really battled with my body, but I can remember being asked to lose weight and battling with the advice. It hurt me. Especially as my baby fat naturally melted away as I got older.’”

    Day-To-Day Thing

“Well, it’s a day-to-day thing. I don’t feel comfortable in my body today at all. Any woman will tell you she has her good and bad days and today I did not feel like I looked my best or felt radiant inside or outside.”

    Character Inspiration

“Gisele Bundchen I always admired. I think she is an example for all models. If I could have just a little bit of her career would already be a happy girl. She seems to be a determined woman, a fighter, very strong. I think she is an icon of Brazilian people. Gisele is a woman who is extremely inspiring, not only in the fashion world, she also does great things for the world.”
