    Josephine Skriver’s Food Diary

    Diet Habits
I need to have small snacks, like anything that’s dry that you can carry on a plane — nut bars, protein bars, or instant-oatmeal packets. I try to have some fruit in my bag. I tend to get super “hangry” if I don’t. I’m like a Snicker’s commercial. I need to have something — if it goes too long I get “hangry.”

    Breakfast
I eat a tablespoon of coconut oil every morning or I’ll put it in my coffee if I can’t take the taste. It really moisturises from within. I’m such a breakfast person. I sometimes like to have two breakfasts and no lunch. I love to start, especially after a big workout, with protein and a little bit of carbs. On the go, sometimes it’s nice to have oatmeal packs. I love eggs and veggies in the morning but sometimes it’s yogurt and granola.

    Lunch
For lunch, my favorite is chicken, usually with a good spicy kick of sauce and some rice and other sides.

    Dinner
My favorite meal for dinner is definitely steak. I love a perfectly cooked ribeye or filet mignon!

    Love ’em “treat days”
I always hate the word “cheat meal.” My grandma has always been like, “If you enjoy it when you eat it’s going to go to the right places. But the second you’re guilty about it, you’re going to see it places you don’t want.” Now I call it a “treat day” — I treat myself. Once in a while you gotta eat something good — everything from pizza to burgers. And I’m a huge fan of chocolate.

    Exercise

    Workout Routine

I workout three to five times a week depending on travel. I love to use bodyweight. One day will be all about the butt, next day will be all about abs, then upper body, then rotating. I like to three days, then one day off, three days, then one day off.

    Fitness Lifestyle

I’ve always been active. But it’s been a long process to figure out what works for me. What worked was lifting weights. It did wonders for my body, I really notice how it has changed the shape. I used to do way more cardio. You can really see the benefits of, Oh I can now lift this much, and it’s empowering. I’ve gotten to the point where I can squat my own body weight and I’m like, Damn yes! You feel so strong, especially as a girl you’re like, You can’t tell me I can’t do this. When I did my first two pull-ups in a row, that was a great moment for me.

My legs have always been strong, but my arms aren’t. I used to play soccer and everything was leg-based growing up, so I’ve never been able to do a pull-up or a push-up when I was younger. When I did two pull-ups on a bar and could lift my head above it, I was like, Okay, now I belong in a gym. I remember pulling myself up and thinking, Oh no, I’m actually doing this I’m actually moving.

    Morning Routine

If my body is like, dead tired or sick I might take a break, but most mornings I work out first thing. A few years back, I made a conscious decision to be a morning-workout person because I had so many excuses every time after work. I don’t ask myself, “Oh do I need to work out today?” It’s just part of my morning routine.

    Switch It Up

Instead of one specific workout, I love to switch it up and to keep my body guessing. One day I’ll be in the gym with weights, the next I’ll do some boxing, and maybe the next day I’ll go for a run on the beach or play volleyball with some friends. The key is just to stay active and to make it fun! Then it doesn’t feel too much like work and you can enjoy it.

    Skin Care Routine

    Morning Skin Care Hack

I love a jade roller. Sometimes if I forget it or don’t have it with me, even just running an ice cube over your face helps to de-puff in the morning. I like to “activate” my face by working out, massaging, or running a jade roller over it—it just helps get the blood [going].

    Evening Skin Care Routine

I wash my face with water and mild soap. Then I put a serum, moisturizer or oil depending on if my skin is dry or super oily. My skin changes a lot with traveling—sometimes it’s extremely dry, sometimes it’s really oily, so I have different creams for each situation. I make a point of not doing anything but washing my face in the morning. I think you develop natural oils throughout the night and I don’t want to strip my face of everything. I try to keep it to a minimum. I think the key is to make sure you do not leave your makeup on.

    Coconut Oil

I love individual packets of coconut oil that you can take your makeup off with. They’re perfect on the go. It’s organic and raw so it doesn’t feel like you’re adding a ton of chemicals to your face.

    Caudalie Face Mist

I always try to make sure to have a face mist — I like this Caudalie one. When I put it on, I immediately calm down.

    SK-II Facial Treatment Mask

I’m a big fan of these masks and using then when you’re on a plane. It’s good for de-puffing before work the next morning. I try to put one of those on once a week to truly rehydrate my skin.

    International Skin Care Products

They have the best face masks in Korea and China. I was in Shanghai and the face masks are so funny—they have little prints that make you look like a panda or a princess. I really like that, because you can’t necessarily find that as much over here [in the U.S.] where everything looks more classic.

    Make Up

    Eyebrows

If I could only do one thing to my face, I would do my brows. I can go with no foundation or no mascara, but my brows—I always have a big ‘ole pencil on me! I’ve really fallen in love with Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer. It’s such an easy pencil and doesn’t smudge through the day.

    Body Care

Baby Oil as a moisturizer: It’s great for applying right before you get out of the shower. I’ve never been able to feel anything as moisturizing all over as baby oil. I add my creams on after, but baby oil just locks it in. I don’t know what it is—[fellow Victoria’s Secret Angel] Jasmine Tookes recommended me to try it out and I haven’t stopped since!

    Hair Care

If I’m on a beach vacation, I’ll put a little lemon in my hair. I’ll dip my fingers in lemon juice and just run them through my hair, it gives you a really nice highlight. But you don’t want to do that too much because it kind of burns your hair. Sometimes I’ll just dip my head in the ocean. The salt water brightens your hair like nothing else.

    Signature Scent

Perfume is the first thing I put on in the morning and the last thing I take off at night. Lately, I’ve been wearing Victoria’s Secret Paris. Its evening flower, woodsy smell is sensual but subtle. You know when you’re on a first date, and finally get close enough to know what they smell like? It’s like that.

I even put fragrance on before bed. I just spray it all over. And when I go away on a trip, I spritz my pillow so my boyfriend misses me. I’m just like, ‘There you go, byeee!’
