Diet
The Harsh Truth Of The Modelling Industry
Models often say in interviews that they eat fast food just as often as anyone else, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Models have to work for their great bodies, they are called “angels” for a reason.
Linda Evangelista opened up about the crazy diets she did back in her modelling days, she recalls that she went on crazy starvation diets, which she would never do again. Linda said during the Ruthie’s Table 4 podcast “You just do liquids, mostly water with lemon and mints and teas and you get a glass of juice a day and you get a diluted watered-down vegetable once a day called a soup, but it’s basically a starvation diet. I will never do the deprivation; I won’t do that again.”
Quality Is What Matters
Nowadays Linda eats a well-balanced diet and does not exclude any foods from her diet. But she also said that, “If I’m going to eat pasta, that’s like an indulgence for me, because I try and watch my weight and be healthy,” she stated. “I always have. If I’m going to eat pasta, it’s got to be great. If I’m going to eat a steak, I mean I eat everything, it can’t be a crappy steak. It has to be, like, the best steak.”
Exercise
Linda opened up about the crazy metabolism she had in her early modelling years. She said that she did not have to work out until she was in her late 20s when she started working out. She said this about her metabolism on the Ruth Rogers podcast, “I think it started to slow down close to 30,” she said of her metabolism. “I started working out when I was 27, 28, cos I was like, ‘Oh, things are a little different.’ And back then if you overindulged for too long if you cut back on everything for three days, you would drop five pounds. Now, it is very easy to gain five pounds in a weekend.”

Controversy and CoolSculpting
Linda Evangelista had been missing for years. She no longer wanted to leave her house. People began to worry about her. Then she suddenly broke her silence. Linda Evangelista had undergone a CoolSculpting procedure.
CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting is a cosmetic procedure that has been around for more than 10 years. The process of removing fat by freezing. It is the most popular and promising method of removing fat without undergoing surgery. The areas to be treated, such as the neck and abdomen, are exposed to cold. The fat cells are frozen and die as a result. Our body disposes of the dead cells via metabolism.
After one or two CoolSculpting procedures, fat can be reduced by up to 20-25%. However, like any cosmetic procedure, it is not without risks.
CoolSculpting Explained
Linda’s Cool Sculpting Journey
Linda Evangelista underwent seven CoolSculpting treatments between August 2015 and February 2016. But instead of losing fat in the target areas, the fat grew.
The Canadian supermodel worked out even more and went again on a crazy low-calorie diet hoping she could lose the weight she gained. She said to People Magazine “I got to where I wasn’t eating at all. I thought I was losing my mind.”
What she didn’t know at the time, and only found out later from her doctor, was that she had paradoxical adipose hyperplasia or PAH. PAH occurs in 1 in 100 or 1 in 1000 people after a CoolSculpting treatment. This meant that there was nothing she could do to get rid of the fat that had developed. The only option left to her was liposuction.
Linda filed a $50 million lawsuit against CoolSculpting parent company Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc. in September, stating that she was unable to work due to complications from seven treatments she underwent in 2015-16.
